► Your options
Whether you live with your parents or carer or if you live by yourself you may be able to get a little more help if your disability makes doing every day tasks more difficult. The Direct Gov website gives you lots of information on what you might be entitled to to help you in your home.
► Disabled facilities grant
The Council might be able to help with costs towards any adaptations you wish to make you your home that might increase your safety or independance at home. Please visit the Durham County Council website for more information on what you could do to your home and how to apply for a grant.
► Renting a house
Please see the 'Moving out' section of the website for more information on applying for a house from either a Private Landlord, Housing Association or the Council.
