I am looking for a job which includes history and ICT

Hello Nathan,

Thanks for your question. There are many career paths using history such as; A Historian, working in museums, Archaeology and working with antiques. As you are also interested in ICT you may want to consider working as a researcher or archivist. Most jobs these days will require you working with ICT as some point so I would suggest that you speak to your Connexions Personal Adviser to discuss this option in more detail.

Hello Rebecca,
Thanks for your question. There are many different types of jobs that include animal work. The job that people often think about the most is a veterinarian but there are many other jobs that will allow you to work with animals. Some examples of jobs that allow you to work with animals includes a Marine Biologist, Animal Welfare Officer, Zoo Keeper or an Animal Behavioral Trainer. There is also the option to do some voluntary work so you can get some experience. I would suggest that you speak to your Connexions Personal Adviser to discuss this in more detail.

I am interested in Youth Work, I have not done this before as I have always done manual work. I was made redundant in Jan 2009, and I have since done agency work in " fits and starts". I would like now to make a career change, and I find the thought of been able to help people either less able than myself or who just need someone to talk to, a rewarding and exciting challenge.
Mant thanks, Robert Marriott.

Hello,

I can't tell you about local opportunities because you don't say where you live but on the Help4teens website we have lots of information about looking for jobs and we even have a vacancies section which includes apprenticeships. We update this on a weekly basis so i would suggest that you keep checking to see if a plumbing apprenticeship becomes available.

You can also contact you nearest Connexions Centre and book an appointment to see an Employment and Training Adviser. They will be able to talk to you about opportunities that are available and also help with things like applications or creating a CV.

Good luck
